Based in Knoxfield, Stahl Metall is specialised in engineering design, manufacture and distributing of high performance, high reliability cable harness assembly, electronic box assemblies, interconnect components, enclosures, and custom metalwork.

When they started the Ready for Growth program in May 2022, their market was 70% defence (aerospace, marine and land systems). Their target goal was to increase from 10% in rail and mining, 5% industrial and commercial.They had all the knowledge but wanted to become more competitive globally particularly in defence and export and more competent in mining, rail, and electric investigations.

Their main growth outcome was to diversify products into different markets and industries, using the same products across different markets.

The Ready for Growth program assisted Stahl Metall to develop a global market strategy, also making them more accountable for their growth.

“The Ready for Growth program delivered by Business Victoria was excellent, our Growth Facilitator, provided us with a lot of information about grants to achieve liquid capital and options for staff development and training. He was able to connect the dots about our key processes and areas, on how we can improve to be cost effective and more competitive. He stepped us through on how to achieve our target. I could not rate the Ready for Growth program higher”, says Anton Fonseka (Stahl Metall Operations Manager).
