TRJ Engineering Group passion is cars including all aspects of motoring including customs, 4x4, muscle cars, 4 bangers and hot rods.

Based in Hallam, they are one stop-shop for precision metal fabrication and general engineering.

TRJ Engineering Group started the program in April 2022. Their biggest challenge was, and it has still been to attract qualified staff since COVID-19. This could be because of changing post-pandemic work patterns, technological changes, and a lack of capacity to up-skill employees.

David Murphy, TRJ’s Managing Director, said that his Growth Facilitator, helped him look at alternative ways for staff recruitment.

“My Growth Facilitator helped me to think outside the box. He came up with the idea of developing a staff incentive program and leadership training for me and others in my team. Something that I didn’t think of beforehand. He also encouraged me to investigate my matched programs like the Entrepreneurs program further.

“I am extremely happy with my business growth progress. As a result of the Ready for Growth program delivered by Business Victoria, we have recently updated our employment policies and we are now recruiting welders from South Africa. I have also been provided with a powerful cashflow analysis tool which allows me to create quick and easy business projections. I will certainly keep in touch with my Growth Facilitator through the Ready for Growth Alumni Network once I finish the Ready for Growth program.”
